Trusted Zirconia Lab in Dallas, TX

American Dental Laboratory is the zirconia lab Texas dentists trust for crowns and bridges that seat accurately. All work is milled in-house by CDTs, with a remake rate consistently below 2% and a 5-year warranty.

What Is Zirconia?

Zirconia is a metal-free ceramic made from zirconium dioxide. It combines the strength of a metal-based restoration with the natural look patients ask for. That’s why it has become the most prescribed crown material in the US, and why it makes up a large share of the cases we produce as a zirconia crown dental lab.

Our full-contour monolithic zirconia restorations come in all 16 Vita Classical shades plus bleach shades, with natural translucency and high fracture toughness.

Types Of Zirconia We Offer

Not all zirconia is the same, and picking the right one matters for the case in front of you. Here are the types of zirconia we work with:

Full-Contour Zirconia (3Y-TZP)

Maximum strength at 1300 MPa flexural strength. The right call for bruxers, heavy bites, and posterior crowns and bridges.

Full-Contour Multilayer Zirconia (4Y-PSZ)

Higher translucency with a natural shade gradient. Best for anterior cases where esthetics come first.

Layered Zirconia (PFZ)

A zirconia substructure with hand-layered porcelain for demanding esthetic cases. See our Zirconia Layered (PFZ)page.

From Single Crowns To Full-arch Bridges

As a full-service dental lab, zirconia bridge and crown work covers most of what we ship every week:

Single crowns:

Anterior and posterior, full-contour or multilayer.

Multi-unit bridges:

Suitable for all indications, including full-arch bridges.

Frameworks:

Substructures for porcelain-fused-to-zirconia crowns and bridges.

Screw-retained implant crowns:

Zirconia options for implant restorations, including custom zirconia abutments.

What Makes Us Different

Plenty of labs mill zirconia. Fewer do it consistently. Dentists searching for the best dental labs’ zirconia restorations near me usually end up comparing the same three things: fit, esthetics, and turnaround. Here’s where we stand on each.

Zirconia Vs Pfm Crown: Which Should You Prescribe?

The zirconia vs PFM crown question comes up in almost every consultation, so here’s the short version.

PFM has over 50 years of clinical history and still earns its place where a metal substructure adds value. But zirconia wins on three points: no dark metal margin at the gumline, no porcelain-over-metal chipping risk, and higher flexural strength in monolithic form.

For most single-unit and bridge cases today, zirconia is the more predictable choice. For cases where you still prefer metal, we also make PFM crowns in-house.

Frequently Asked Questions

We offer full-contour monolithic zirconia (3Y-TZP) for strength, multilayer zirconia (4Y-PSZ) for esthetics, and layered PFZ for demanding anterior cases. All 16 Vita Classical shades plus bleach shades are available.

Our zirconia has a flexural strength of 1027-1300 MPa depending on the type, making it suitable for bruxers, posterior crowns, and full-arch bridges.

For most cases, yes. Zirconia is metal-free, avoids the dark margin at the gumline, and won't chip the way layered porcelain can. PFM still makes sense for select cases, and we produce both in-house.

10 days in the lab, with on-time delivery consistently between 98-99%.

No. Our zirconia restorations use conventional cementation, so there's no change to your delivery workflow.
